Here is the thing about LINS Finance. The numbers on paper aren't terrible. A 35% annual interest rate is actually below what many short-term lenders charge in South Africa, where rates can creep up to 60% or higher depending on the product and the fees attached. So if you're comparing purely on the cost of borrowing, LINS Finance doesn't look bad.
But let's put that rate into real money. On a loan of R5,000 over 180 days at 35% per annum, you're looking at interest of roughly R862. Add in initiation fees and monthly service fees allowed under the NCA, and your total repayment could realistically land somewhere between R6,000 and R6,500 depending on how fees are structured. That's not outrageous. But it's also not nothing, and you need to know what you're agreeing to before you sign.

**** people out of their hard earned money
All the reviews on HelloPeter are **** people, they do not exist! They promise you the moon and the stars to help you, but they prey on desperate people and then **** them out of their money. I was dumb enough to fall for this pathetic loan provider, who is a ****mer. I was approved for a loan; they requested an upfront initiation fee of R1994.00. Once paid, the funds will be transferred. Once I paid it, they said for insurance purposes they want an additional R6k before the funds can be paid. Now they've blocked me afdter I reqeusted a refund of the money paid to them
