Some lenders charge far more once you factor in initiation fees and monthly service charges. On a loan of R5,000 over 90 days at 35% per annum, you're looking at interest of roughly R430, so your total repayment comes to around R5,430 before fees. That's manageable, but you need to confirm the full cost disclosure in writing before signing because fees can change that number significantly.
So what's the catch? The biggest question mark for us is the lack of a publicly available website. That's not a dealbreaker, but it does make independent research harder. You can't browse their terms, check their FAQ, or compare their fee schedule at 10pm when you're trying to make a decision. That kind of transparency matters.
