What is the purpose of the company if debts aren't being settled.
There is no branch to go in and speak to anyone directly. There is contant staff turn over so you never know who you dealing with because one month its this person the next month its someone new or different. I have been contacted directly by my Creditors stating that no payments have been received in 2years however I am sent monthly statements from HYPHEN PDA on behalf of Meerkat reflecting monies allocated and paid. The information is contradictory, the service I general is not pleasant as I have been with Meerkat since 2021 and we are now in 2026 and the last communication received from Meerkat was as per 2023, 3years ago. Not a single one of my debts have been settled in the past 5years, so what is the purpose of their services, I could have entered into agreements with the Creditors directly.

Fantastic service and we got a great new car from them. Very helpful even though they were busy and got a great new car. The cars they had were reasonably priced and they updated the rego as was going out of date 2 weeks after purchase.
USELESS App
I purchased 2 travel insurance, 1 was single trip then an annual multi trip insurance, as a result I was able to get this app as a reward for my purchase To start with, it took months and several contacts with their CS to be able to log in. When I was finally able to log in the codes were either not generated or not accepted. I had to endure the embarrassment infront of customers and the staffs without being able to get the reward. Contacting their CS is useless as they can’t help you, they will tell you they need to discuss the issue with the manager which is too late for me. Today they sent me an email asking me to provide very sensitive details in order to give me the discount, they almost wanted me to hand them my bank details in return I will get the pennies of rewards they offer, so thank you for being useless, I’m not going to risk getting hacked just for few pennies you offer me Im deleting your App soon

I have been getting calls from this company for nearly 2 years, ironically since I bought my house so I assume it is because of my bond that makes it look like I have a lot of debt. I have asked each time for my details to be removed but they continue to call me.

I made a enquiry online. Then a very helpful lady from meerkat contacted me. We had a discussion and then she wanted me to talk to my husband to see if we wanted to go this route ot sort our own debt out. We decided best to sort our own debt out, as we dont know what the future holds. So i paid for two big debts on my name finished. Then meerkat phones me and i said thank you but i have settled my debt, i cant affort another 5 year debt extended. This was last year 2023. Then since 2024 started i have receivef mukyuple calls a hay harrassing me saying , no yhey just want to help, even though i daid ive paid my debt myself 5 minutes later another consultant would call, and this would happen throught the days and days to come. I whatsapped the first lady who contacted me via my anitual enquiry and asked her to please tell the other staff to stop calling 3 to 5 times a day. It did not help. I will be at work in a meeting and tgey callinf, i say im not inrerrested ans they phone back 5 times in a row. Making me look unprofessional at work. They kept harrassing me to the point i had to bkock all numbers coming from them. They must Stop trying to force people into debt review just over a enquiry. No means NO.

Disappointed, pure incompetence!
Just don’t. I have had the biggest headache using them. Their consultants Sharon and Kelly are always saying they are helping but few months later still having the same issues. Afraid that the Sheriff will come to my house of the company’s incompetence. Really disappointed.

1 star is too much . You charge an after care fee of R345 per month. What after care are you charging for. I’ve been trying to get information for the past (5 months with absolutely no success. Even the CEO has no courtesy of replying. Is it that he’s trying only interested in my money. I have a tranche of emails to support my statement of pathetic service from Meerkat. I’m complaining to the NCR and other responsible authorities. I’m stopping my debit suspending my debit order until I can get the service I’m paying for.
4 MONTHS DEBT FREE - BUT STILL UNDER DEBT REVIEW - NEVER RECOMMEND MEERKAT TO ANYONE ELSE
Honestly - in the beginning - they great - a real 5 / 5 ...until you finish paying and then are no longer on debt review - you have to do their job for them when it comes to sending off the certified letters to all the credit bureaus to clear your name - and that's after 3 months of being debt free - and then you have to wait a further couple of months because the person you're dealing with isn't listening as to what documentation the creditors are looking for - like the form called WU17 - where Meerkat releases you from being their client due to your debt all being paid up. will I recommend people to head their way again for assistance - Hell no - at this rate, you can be paid up and still be on debt review to Meerkat for the rest of your life and they won't give a crap- no stars today! But then you can't post a review unless you give them a star...
Excellent Pest Control Service Follow Up by Meerkat Engineer
I am writing this review to recognize the outstanding experience my wife and I just had with Meerkat Pest Control Service in general and with their engineer Mike in particular. We had bat and flying squirrel exclusion services performed at our 15 year old log home in the Adirondacks last August. The services included a Full Warranty for 3 years. We called Meercat to let them know we were seeing signs that the bats/squirrels had returned recently. Based on some simple questions we answered, Meercat Customer Service promptly scheduled an inspection by one of their engineers. Engineer Mike came to the house today with everything he needed to complete this task, including an obvious expert knowledge of his job. Within 1/2 hour, he had pinpointed the additional entry point, completed the necessary actions to address the problem and scheduled a follow up inspection in near future to make sure the problem has been resolved. Aside from his clear technical skills, Mike was a pleasure to work with and provided valuable advice to help us understand the natural habits of these animals and how to maintain some of the prevention on our own going forward. Highly recommend this pest control service as a company who backs up their contract with a solid warranty and for hiring/keeping excellent professionals on as their staff.

Meerkat should equip staff with proper tools to perform duties and there's a huge lack of this. A few clients I worked with cancelled their policies but still being debited? Fix your systems!
Management skills is so poor they don't even know what their doing. There's no structure in place everything is just a mess the systems etc. There's no unity and a lack of motivation, I believe you work well if you're being supported

I had a policy with Freedom Life Insurance and recieved a message that Meerkat has taken over the policy . First it’s policy increase and secondly they told me my policy has lapse how so I don’t understand because they debit every month . I recieved an sms stating that my policy have been reinstated and in order for me to claim I must pay monthly fees for six month n wait for six months for me to claim . Really not happy with their service it’s not servicing us as it should . Extremely disappointed

I only got information and email saying they re making contact with my creditors and about a credit life policy which I tried to get more info on to understand if it's compulsory to have the policy. I still don't know if it is. I don't know when my debit order will start etc. Ntombi has been helpful in starting the process but I need clarity on where I stand. The person who took out the policy (employer) on behalf of the employee, cannot change anything or even communicate without the employee being contacted. in this case a garden worker without a cellphone not living at the employer's house. For this reason I have now given up and just had the policy lapse.

Joining Meerkat | Best Financial Choice I Ever Made
There has been multiple events since my journey started with Meerkat that makes me feel like they are looking out for me: 1. Application process in 2019 with Zaida Alley was seamless and she provided me with necessary info in a professional manner. 2. The Meerkat regular communications on e-mail (Moku ) and the occasional check-in call from call centre is really great to help me stay on track. 3. At the end of 2021 I was unemployed and I could easily make arrangements on Meerkat WhatsApp and Zaida Jack promptly responded and assisted me by contacting my creditors to make the necessary arrangements. 4. More recently in November 2022 I needed some assistance to pay my son's deposit at culinary school and Meerkat again speedily and seamlessly assisted me. 5. In December 2022 I starting engaging with Sharon September as I requested a reference letter to support my son's funding application. However, his funding application was declined by NSFAS because he is attending a private college. I approached Sharon again to ask if Meerkat could assist by speaking to my creditors and confirm if I could possible have a reduction in my monthly permanent. She immediately contacted the creditors and the feedback from creditors are slow but coming through. Sharon from December 2022 to January 2023 had not forgotten about me, calls to check-in and ensures I get the feedback to possibly assist with my son's funding. Joining Meerkat was the best decision ever! From day 1 of my application I don't have to engage with creditors on the phone. I've had about 77% reduction in my debt since inception and I have a 3 creditors fully paid and I now own my car (feels great!). Each and every person I've engaged with at Meerkat has provided me with professional, friendly and outstanding service. Thanks Meerkat for looking out for me :)

I was misled that the process of debt reduction was going to commence on my payday which is 25th November 2022 but for some reason that did not happen without any explanation. I asked for an explanation concerning the debt cover which was said to be free but I did not get a full explanation on the matter. My wife is also said to be having debt with Russels which she claims that she never had any dealings with any Russels. The last time time I checked my installment was said to be R6400.00 but I have also received an sms stating any installment increase to seven thousand and something. No one bothers to even update me on the progress of my application. I am really saddened by this treatment as I consider myself already vulnerable due to debts. All in all I am not pleased with the service as promised.

I took a cover with Freedom Life which…
I took a cover with Freedom Life which was taken over by Meerkat. A consultant told me that I had to cancel my cover with Freedom life and take one with Meerkat or my previous cover will go to waste and I will not get my money back. In that cover I had my 2 siblings, mother and uncle covered and was told that they don't cover individuals under 18 years!!? He removed my siblings from the cover and added this cover as if I took a second policy. I was now paying for two different policies which was not supposed to be the case. I've been paying both and this morning, I get a message that my policy has been cancelled!!

I noted this on the 28 and directly provided an email confirming the cancelation. I am so so upset,meerkat flag me on credit bureau but nothing is finalized, I didn't even sign any agreement nothing.,the only thing i sign was an electronic consent for them to go in my profile and to phone my creditors,thats what I was told . secondly my debts doesn't even reach 150k but i was told that im gonna pay 2500 for 10 damn years,that like 2 and a half times my original debt amount.,Debt review rules is 5 years max..The consultants are all talking different things,the one say 10 years nd the other one say 5 years max..im obviously been trapped here.Im over indebted but I'm not stupid.

My experience with Meerkat has been bitter sweet from when i started in February, i was pissed but Ilhaam Kamaar managed to calm me down as a customer and explained to me step by step to ease the frustration. I lost my cool few time but not even once has Ilhaam ignored my feelings. In the line business you are in I think you need Ilhaam as an employer with expertise of customer service. The worst debt review company. Signed up with them in May, they never notified me, bout any cancelation. Messaged all my creditors, n now I'm being harassed by creditors, I can't get a loan , why coz my name is locked under debt review my MEERKAT. can't move to another debt company, coz they want money. U guys r a bunch of thieves. I have to spend money i don't have to get out of your hold, just to put myself in more debt. Someone needs to close you crooks down
