Pros & Cons

Advantages

  • Loan amounts go up to R150,000, which is higher than many personal lenders in this space
  • 30% per annum interest rate is on the lower end compared to short-term lenders charging 50% or more
  • Repayment terms stretch to 5 years, giving you room to keep monthly instalments manageable
  • Fully online application, no branch visits required
  • Covers a wide borrowing range starting from as little as R500

Disadvantages

  • Trust score of 1.8 out of 10 based on customer reviews we collected is one of the lowest we have seen across 37 lenders
  • No first loan free offer, so there is no low-risk way to try them out
  • Customer feedback raises consistent concerns that we could not ignore, particularly around service and communication
  • Ranked 15th out of 37, which means there are 14 lenders we rate higher before you even get to EasyFin

About EasyFin Loans

If you need a personal loan somewhere between R500 and R150,000 and you have a few days to shop around, EasyFin Loans is one option on the table. They are not a household name, and they are not trying to be one. What they offer is a fairly standard personal loan product with terms running from one year up to five, and an interest rate sitting at 30% per annum. That rate is actually not the worst we have seen in this market. But not great either.

The problem is the trust picture. Based on the 29 customer reviews we collected, the trust score came out at 1.8 out of 10. That is low. Really low. It does not mean you will have a bad experience, but it does mean you should go in with your eyes open and read every line of that loan agreement before you sign anything.

We gave EasyFin Loans a score of 5.5 out of 10, which puts them at number 15 out of 37 lenders we rated. Decent enough on paper. Less convincing when you factor in what customers are actually saying.

How Does EasyFin Loans Work?

1

1. Visit easyfinloans.co.za and use the loan calculator to pick your amount between R500 and R150,000 and your repayment term between 1 and 5 years.

2

2. Fill in the online application form with your personal details, employment information, and income. This usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

3

3. Upload your supporting documents, including your ID, proof of income, and recent bank statements. Make sure everything is clear and current or your application will stall.

4

4. EasyFin Loans assesses your application and runs an affordability check in line with NCA requirements. You should hear back within one business day, though it can take longer.

5

5. If approved, you accept the loan offer and the money is paid directly into your bank account. Payout timing varies, but same-day or next-day transfers are possible once everything is signed off.

Requirements

Who Is EasyFin Loans Best For?

EasyFin Loans suits a salaried employee with a stable income who needs a medium to large personal loan and can commit to a multi-year repayment plan. It is probably not the right fit if you need a tiny emergency loan fast and cheap. But if you are looking at something like R20,000 to R80,000 for debt consolidation or a big expense, and you have your documents ready, it is worth getting a quote.

Is EasyFin Loans Safe & Legit?

EasyFin Loans operates under the National Credit Act, which means they are required to register with the National Credit Regulator and conduct proper affordability assessments before approving any loan. You can verify any lender's NCR registration on the NCR's official website. Under the NCA, you also have the right to apply for debt counselling if you find yourself in financial distress, and no registered lender can legally harass you or charge fees outside of what the NCA allows. Always get your pre-agreement statement in writing before you sign.

Our Full Review

Let's start with the number that actually matters to your wallet. At 30% per annum, EasyFin Loans sits in what you might call the middle tier of the South African personal lending market. It is not the brutal 50% to 60% territory you see with some short-term lenders, but it is still a serious cost of borrowing. Take a loan of R10,000 over 12 months at 30% per annum, and you are looking at repaying somewhere around R11,500 to R12,000 once interest is applied across the term. On R50,000 over three years, the total cost climbs considerably. Always use the lender's own calculator and ask for the full cost of credit before you commit.

The repayment terms are one of the better things about EasyFin Loans. Going up to 1,825 days, which is five full years, gives borrowers a real chance to structure a loan they can actually afford month to month. And on the amount side, R150,000 is a meaningful ceiling. Not every personal lender in South Africa will go that high.

So why only 5.5 out of 10? The trust score. Based on the 29 customer reviews we collected, EasyFin Loans scored 1.8 out of 10. That is not a number we can just wave away. Common themes in the feedback pointed to problems with communication, unclear processes, and frustration after application. Whether those reviews reflect a system issue or a run of bad luck, we cannot say for certain. But 1.8 is 1.8.

The application itself is fully online, which is convenient. And the loan range, from R500 right up to R150,000, means they can technically serve a wide variety of borrowers. Thing is, convenience only matters if the experience on the other side is solid.

Our honest take: get a quote, compare it against lenders ranked higher on our list, and only proceed if the terms genuinely work for you. Do not let a fast application process rush a five-year financial commitment.

This company *****s your money by deducting R250 once off and for months thereafter R98 so you dont notice it. Their approach is absolutely disgusting by doing this. And when I phone them to cancel whatever this is they dont answer the phone.

**** Artists - 3rd party credit provider.

App**** for a loan, was then redirected to 3rd party CPR accredited lenders and declined. the R250 was acceptable to pay as I read the terms and conditions and accepted the debit check mandate. However, since I was declined, they debited R98 as a service fee and was told in order to cancel I need to complete the cancellation form. I filled in the cancellation form and was told they would remove me from the debit mandate. Second month they did not debit me as thought nothing more of it. Second month the R98 amount went off again to which I notified them to cancel and was told to fill the same form in again. Seems the form to cancel which I 'm told to fill in gets no attention as they simply ignore my messages now and have deducted R98 this month again. This is left and they should be investigated, once they receive your debit check mandate, they simply lock you in and do not even entertain your cancellation form. they prey on victims that are looking for loans and desperate innocent people. The attitude and lack of pride in the messages suggests they know very well what they are doing and simply resort to say you should have read the terms and conditions. Daylight ******* and ***** is what they are committing. Whats app is the only contact you have **********

****mers/*****sters!!!

****mers!!! This company engages in ********* practices. They require a Debicheck mandate before processing applications, then debit R250 without completing the application. The debit order cannot be reversed as they block that option. They exploit vulnerable individuals and misrepresent themselves as lenders when they are brokers, making it difficult to report them to regulatory bodies. I am currently engaging the Broker Ombudsman to determine the next steps to prevent further *****ulent activity.

Easyfin Loan is a **** – Taking Money Without Giving Any Loan

I want to warn others about Easyfin Loan. This company has been debiting money from my account every month, yet I have never received any loan funds from them. Their contact number is **********, which is a cellphone number and not even a proper business line. When I called to query this, their consultants were extremely rude, shouting and screaming at me, and even hanging up the phone multiple times. They refuse to stop the debit order despite my clear requests. This company is clearly a **** preying on people. I am taking this matter further with the National Credit Regulator (NCR), the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), and SAPS for ***** investigation.

****mers to those who needed their help

I queried for a loan. Then I get an sms to approve a debit check to complete my loan process not knowing that they send my information to different companies. I then send an email to cancel their services and they reply with a lengthy email as to why I can't just cancel and they will still take their R250. They didn't give me this information in the very beginning. Yet I emailed them to cancel my application the very same day. My own bank can't even cancel tge debicheck. I just want tge manda

F***en ****mer EasyFin Loans

These people debited R250 from my account without providing me with any service. When I complained, they sent me a cancellation letter, stating that I need to pay the R250 (already deducted) + R98 for their service (which I didn't receive). They are ****mers and are taking desperate people's money to run their shady business.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much can I borrow from EasyFin Loans?

You can borrow between R500 and R150,000. That is a wide range and genuinely broader than many personal lenders in South Africa. The amount you actually qualify for will depend on your income, expenses, and credit profile.

What interest rate does EasyFin Loans charge?

EasyFin Loans charges 30% per annum. To put that in context, some short-term lenders charge 50% or higher, so 30% is not the worst rate in the market. But it is still significant over a multi-year term, and you should calculate the full repayment amount before signing.

How fast does EasyFin Loans pay out?

Based on what they advertise, payout can happen same day or next business day once your application is approved and your loan agreement is signed. In practice, delays can occur if your documents are incomplete or if verification takes longer than expected.

Is EasyFin Loans registered with the NCR?

EasyFin Loans states they operate in line with the National Credit Act. You can and should verify their current NCR registration directly on the National Credit Regulator's website at ncr.org.za before you apply. This takes two minutes and is always worth doing.

Can I get a EasyFin Loans loan with bad credit?

It is possible, but unlikely if your credit record is seriously impaired. Like all registered credit providers under the NCA, EasyFin Loans is required to run an affordability assessment. A poor credit history will reduce your chances, and if you are currently under debt review, you will not qualify.

What documents do I need?

You will need your South African ID, your most recent payslip, three months of bank statements, proof of residential address dated within the last three months, and a working email address and cellphone number.
